Family Movie Review

Let us now take an example of a family movie review. Considering one of the famous movies released recently, it would be appropriate to see a family movie review of the movie, "Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement". A family movie review of the movie could be as follows.

(In 1st person perspective)

With the recent trends in movies, there has been a surge towards making sequels of good films, and the sequels proving to be a horrifying variation from the original. This was the first thought that popped into my mind when I saw the advertisement for this movie on TV. Ironically, the next day I was 'dragged' to the movie, thanks to the relentless pestering of my five year old daughter. The only solace was that the movie was directed by Garry Marshall and he was not a director who would plan a movie offhand. The same crew that starred in the prequel was retained, Julie Andrews, Anne Hathaway, Heather Matarazzo and the others. The first Princess Diaries was a good movie, about a 15 year old girl fantasizing herself as a princess, then finding out the distinction between fantasy and reality and coping with it. The lead character in the movie, Mia Thermopoulis has just finished graduation at Princeton in World Affairs and diplomacy, setting a nice launching pad for becoming a queen. She returns to Genovia to ascend the throne, but is faced with a new hurdle that Genovian queens must be married before they can step on the throne. The problem is worsened with the presence of a competitor to Mia. The rest of the movie is about how Mia resolves the issue and whether she gets to rule Genovia or not. Though the movie gives the impression that it is meant for children, actually it's a good movie for adults also who would appreciate the sequences that are tacked on. All in all, this is a really good movie for the family, a really good family entertainer.
